Who are TXR Runners?

We are one of the largest recreational running club in Victoria, supporting runners of all ages and abilities with the quality coaching sessions across Melbourne’s South East. Since 2012 we have coached over 1,000 runners as they prepared for their first 5km, first marathon, or next PB.

Our training sessions are conducted in a friendly a non-competitive environment to help you achieve your running goals and improve your health and fitness along the way. We value positivity, hard work, good sportsmanship and believe that all runners should have access quality coaching, no matter whether they are running for competition, recreation or personal fitness. 

As our name - TXR - suggests you may find us out and about at trail (T), cross-country (X) and road (R) running events. You'll find TXR runners training for all types of running events. Our members also compete on the track, in triathlon and many other events across Melbourne, Victoria and beyond.

Training Sessions

Our training sessions are designed for beginners through to intermediate or advanced runners to help you achieved your goals. Our experienced coaching team provide structured training sessions designed to help you improve your running skills, endurance and speed.

Each session begins with;
· A warm up walk, jog or run at your own pace.
· A series of dynamic drills to activate the muscle groups needed when running.
· Strides to prepare our bodies to run at pace by slowing building speed each run through.

Each quality interval session runs for approximately 20 -25 mins these are tailored to your abilities (beginner to advanced) and designed to improve endurance and speed over time.

We end each session with a group photo and a cool down (walk, jog or run at your own pace).


All our dedicated volunteer coaches have loads of experience and are passionate about running, they are supported by an enthusiastic team of Run Leaders. Together they plan structured training sessions tailored to suite all runners from beginners to advanced and are designed to improve your running skills, endurance and speed.

Our coaching team have a minimum of Level 1 and many a Level 2 in Recreational Running Coach accreditation from Athletics Victoria and hold Working with Children Checks (WWCC).
